Jennifer DeBerg, OT, ML, is a User Services Librarian at the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences, University of Iowa Libraries. In this role, she uses her clinical background combined with information science expertise to advise students and clinicians in finding, organizing, and evaluating research for EBP. DeBerg is a co-author of “Assemble, Appraise, and Synthesize Body of Evidence” (Chapter 5) and provided literature search support for many of the chapters.

Cassandra Fowler, MSN, RN, is a Research and Evidence-Based Practice Specialist at UI Hospitals & Clinics. Fowler’s clinical background is in perioperative nursing, primarily post anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients. She acts as the program coordinator for the EBP Internship, guiding frontline clinicians through the EBP process. Fowler wrote a significant number of strategies in “Implementation” (Chapter 9) and many patient engagement sections throughout the book.

Elyse Laures, PhD, RN, is a Research and Evidence-Based Practice Specialist at UI Hospitals & Clinics and Faculty at UI College of Nursing. Laures’ research and teaching focus surrounds pain management, pediatrics, and critical care. She is the program coordinator for the EBP Change Champion program, educating frontline clinicians to implement and facilitate EBP. Laures is co-author of “Design and Pilot the Practice Change” (Chapter 7).

Stephanie Stewart, PhD, RN, RNC-NIC, is Associate Director of Children’s and Women’s Services at UI Hospitals & Clinics. She has extensive experience in clinical and administrative nursing leadership and design and implementation of EBP change. Her research focus is on parent and family experience during a child’s resuscitation. Stewart is the lead author of “Form a Team” (Chapter 4).
