Marrelli was the founding member of the International Home Care Nurses Organization (www.IHCNO.org), which was developed “to support a vibrant worldwide network of nurses to promote excellence in providing optimal care to patients living at home wherever they live in the world.” The IHCNO was started with a small but “mighty” group of nursing leaders.

Marrelli is looking for educational institutions or healthcare centers of excellence that may wish to partner with the IHCNO for meeting venues and other opportunities. The Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing hosted and co-sponsored the IHCNO’s inaugural conference in 2013. The 2014 IHCNO meeting was held in Singapore with the Tsao Foundation, and, similarly, the 2015 meeting was co-sponsored and held at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Nursing. The IHCNO has a unique vision—that these meetings be held at such sites to bridge practice and education and to introduce nursing and other students to home care and the many models of care at home across the globe.
