I acknowledge everyone who has been on my journey as a nurse and nurse leader. Their guidance and mentorship have led me where I am today in healthcare and nursing. There are so many individuals that to name them all would be impossible. So, this acknowledgment goes out to all of those individuals. They know who they are.
I also want to acknowledge the National Academies of Practice. I have the opportunity to serve on the executive committee of this organization as well as co-edit its journal. This organization's unwavering commitment to interprofessional healthcare and practice is extraordinary.
I also want to acknowledge Inspira Health and its decision to appoint a nurse to its board. I have learned so much more about healthcare and how boards function by my service on this board. Hopefully, I have given as much as I have learned. Specifically, I want to thank Tom Baldosaro, Chief Financial Officer, and Sherry Remy, Director of Emergency Services, from Inspira Health. I also want to thank Michele Conley, Corporate Vice President of Jefferson Health System in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Karen Strattoti for her knowledge of the long-term care industry and her willingness to share it. Finally, I want to thank Tiffany Appleby from Enlightened Solutions Detox for sharing information about reimbursement in an addiction treatment center. I could not have completed this edition without these individuals!
