Shelley A. Johnson, EdD, RN

Dr. Shelley A. Johnson received her baccalaureate degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, a master of science from Pennsylvania State University, and a doctorate in educational leadership at the University of Phoenix. She also holds certificates from Harvard University in educational leadership, the University of Pennsylvania in community participatory research, and in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Johnson has taught and led undergraduate and graduate programs for more than 17 years. She has worked in higher education leadership for Chamberlain University, University of Phoenix, Rutgers University, LaSalle University, and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

She was the founding director and chair of nursing and health science at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. She currently serves as a dean at Chamberlain University and as an independent consultant via Kairos Solutions, LLC. Her specialties include higher education, leadership, curriculum and instruction, assessment, and community health. She is certified as a nurse executive, nurse educator, and comprehensive systematic reviewer.

Johnson practices servant leadership. She is president of Sigma Theta Tau, Xi Chapter, at the University of Pennsylvania, and serves on other community organization boards. She has published articles and contributed chapters to various books, served as a subject matter expert, and participated in research related to a variety of topics, including perceptions of student bullying, health disparities, cultural diversity, advocacy, leadership, and nursing education. Research interests include nursing and general educational practices, healthy work environments, and leadership development. Johnson conducts presentations and workshops on these topics for educational and business groups.
